I usually take a note or sketch when I create a new circuit. I thought I did when I installed “threshold” on the site at Onondaga Community College (OCC) in May 2007. The brownish circuit board in the photo is the original one, which was installed through a program called, Art Across Campus at OCC. It was mailed to my place because a MP3 player with this circuit stopped playing.
I was surprised when I opened the box because it is very clean even it was installed in a PVC box which was kept outside of building for two years. Then, it is still in working condition. The MP3 player made by a okay company is dead, but not my circuit, which makes me feel better. I should make MP3 player myself? Well.., it would be too complicated with little budget.
Since I can’t find the sketch for this circuit, I copied it on the breadboard. I think I should improve the sound quality for future use. “threshold” will be lent until May 2011.
It was rainy. It was storm. I took a train to go to New York City in order to receive two recommendation letters for submitting an award. It had to have the postmark on the 1st of October. After I collected the letters, I went to the main post office on 34th Street.
Last a couple of weeks, I wrote three statements and applications for applying grants and award. It is not easy for me to write these essays in English. Fortunately, I have a few people who generously help my projects in English. I want to say “thank you” to these people here.
Finally, decipher is up. It took long time to complete… from mid August. But, I worked for this installation about 72hours or so. Maybe too much? I am really glad to see it works with 12V naked lamps, which I swapped to LED lights when I had a solo exhibition in the Second Street Gallery, VA. On the other hand, again, the sound quality is not great. I hope I can figure it out by next solo exhibition in December 2010. In order to do so, I should build an environment that I can check speakers of multichannel sound with lights. It will be a quite big project.
By the way, most photos for my posts are taken by iPhone 3Gs. I like the low quality images because it feels more reality than beauty for posts/updates/news.
