TAKAFUMI IDE

Life is fleeting; therefore, life is beautiful.

SUMMARY

Based in New York, Takafumi Ide is an interdisciplinary media artist whose practice encompasses immersive sound and light installations, outdoor sculptures, and delicate works on paper. Exploring the “brilliance of ephemeral life,” his work often establishes a poetic dialogue between specific sites and sensory memories, such as his recent environmental projects for the Nakanojo Biennale. By blending Japanese aesthetics with contemporary technology, Ide seeks to illuminate the resilient strength within human fragility and evoke a profound awareness of the dignity of life.
